Sri Lankan Seafood Festival @ Berjaya Times Square Hotel

Ayubowan! (Long life in Sri Lanka greeting) Berjaya Times Square Hotel (BTSH) this time brings you guys a fine taste of Sri Lankan cuisine for the whole month of April 2018 at its Big Apple Restaurant. This was my first time tasting Sri Lankan food which perhaps impossible to make it if I did not travel to that country. Situated in the middle of trading routes for sea farers in the ancient times as well as contact with foreign traders who brought new food items, cultural influences from neighbouring countries have helped shape Sri Lankan cuisine. Influences from India, Indonesia and Dutch are most evident in shaping the taste and ingredients of their dish.

Sri Lankan Seafood Festival

One of the most common yet specialty in Sri Lankan cuisine are the crabs. Deemed as one of the finest dishes among Sri Lankan cuisine line-up, these Sri Lankan crabs will be the highlight of the month-long food promotion in BTSH. The hotel purposely fly in 2 distinguished chefs from Berjaya Hotel Colombo to perform and prepare authentic Sri Lankan cuisine throughout the promotion in serving the best.

We also saw Sri Lankan High Commissioner A.J.M Muzammil graced the event with his presence.
