One of the Muar attraction for tourists is Tan Kok Leyong Nursery, the name always being spelt wrong by people. I never heard of this place until I been brought to here. In KL, whenever we wanna buy a beautiful bonsai or flowers, the first place came to our minds is Sg Buloh. Nevertheless, I have been told that in Muar alone, there are around 300 nurseries in the state. Most of the landscaped plants in Putrajaya and Cyberjaya were supplied by nurseries in Muar.
Tan Kok Leyong nursery was founded in the year 1976 by the late Mr Tan Kok Leyong, it was previously named Tan Kok Leyong Nursery. The nursery grows a wide variety of high quality landscape plants ranging from ground cover to big trees and palms, potted plants, bonsai, turfing, fruits planting materials & estate supplies, landscape accessories supplies, landscaping & garden design.

With a large collection of inventory, the nursery specialises in completing plant fulfilment for government bodies, landscape contractors, licensed landscape professionals, garden centres, schools etc.
Through my observation, the highest plant in the nursery is the Buddhist pine tree/ Luo Han Song which believed playing a role in Chinese Feng Shui.
In recent years, Tan Kok Leyong Nursery diversified into indoor potted plants, tremendous trees & bonsai, and plants seedling supply to meet the needs of their valued customers and emphasize their expanded business internationally which are the import & export market.
The cactuses here are so beautiful. I like the colourful blossoms on top of each cactus.
The globe-like cactuses are stunning! I never see so big and there are numerous here!
