旧古仔路黑白配西中式餐厅@Kimmz Cafe

Kimmz Cafe 在2011年12月24日开始营业,至今已经营业了1年半。坐落于旧古仔路,这家餐厅地点甚旺,也是华裔人口集中的地区。若你时常到旧古仔路,那么你一定不会不知道这里有一间24小时营业的NSK 霸市,这家餐厅就在霸市后面,店头对着一栋公寓。

Kimmz Cafe was found in 24 Dec 2011, til now it has operated for 1 and a half year. Located in Kuchai Lama, this is a busy location and where Chinese ethnic centers. If you always been here, you sure will know there is a 24 hours opened NSK hypermarket. The restaurant is just behind it and opposite a condominium.

When we reach, there are not many customers as lunch time is over.



餐厅里的摆设都以黑白为主,给人一种简单且西式的感觉。

Inside the restaurant, everything is decorated with black and white, give us a simple yet western feel.

Coffee RM3.90

在等待朋友到齐的片刻,点了些饮料。这杯咖啡,男友喝得津津有味,到最后他还点多一杯呢!据说,咖啡粉是他们自己做的,把几种不同的咖啡豆掺在一起,所以炮制的这杯咖啡很香滑可口。

While waiting for friend, we ordered a drink. My bf love this coffee very much, at the end he ordered second glass. I was told that the coffee powder was made from few different types of coffee beans, when all mixed up, the coffee smells good!

Soya Bean RM3.90

我则选择喝豆奶。有点小失望,吸了好几口,豆奶毫无味道,喝到一大半时才喝到很甜。

I ordered soya bean but have little bit of disappointment. Sucking a few mouthful of soya milk and it was tasteless. Drink halfway, it was too sweet. By the way, I stirred well at the start.



Lily & Jasmine RM8.90
不过饮料之中,其最特别的还是这些在透明玻璃壶盛装的花茶。这像是一桩美丽的摆设品,也是一壶饮料,两者合一,怎有看头啊!花儿在温水中慢慢盛开,倒出来的茶也有一股花香哦!

But among all drinks, the most special one is this- lily and jasmine tea in transparent glassy tea pot. It looks like a beautiful furnishings, but it is also a pot of drink, two combine into one, interesting enough! Flowers bloom slowly in warm water, cause the tea pouring out have a nice floral scents !
Deep Fried Enoki Mushroom RM9.90

一条条的炸金菇你看过吗?到如今我只吃过素食店里的炸鲍鱼菇,可鲍鱼菇水分较多,像我不大会煮东西的人,试过几次炸到很难吃,又很油又很多水,咬起来一点都不脆。哈哈,这个炸金菇有点创意,下次我要试下拿来炸看。这一条条幼细的炸金菇样子有点像Twisties, 可是咬起来比Twisties更好味道!我个人认为你去十几家餐厅用餐,到一个月后还对那个食物还存有味道的记忆以及知道在哪里吃,那么就可以肯定那碟菜肴做得很成功。我个人认为这炸金菇也是如此,来这必试!


Have you seen deep fried Enoki mushroom before? Til now I only tried fried abalone mushrooms in vegetarian shop. However, fried abalone mushrooms is not easy to be deep fried as the water content is too high. I tried to deep fry it but fail, the mushroom was not crispy at all.The deep fried Enoki mushroom is creative, I might try to cook next time. The fine long Enoki mushrooms look like Twisties, but they taste better. In my opinion, if you go visit ten restaurants, after one month, you still remember the dish with the flavour and know where it is from, then the dish is successful and make a good impression in customers' mind. Personally, I think that this dish is the one that can stay long in my mind, must try this if you visit!

Sizzling Rice-Seafood in Superior Sauce  RM12.90

这道菜肴会让我想起Midvalley Oasis food court里面那挡很多人排队的烧鱼挡。怎么会让我联想到那挡呢?因为都是一碟饭配肉,酱汁都是酸酸辣辣的哦!而且吃了会流很多汗,够味道又够香,非常开胃!端上桌上时,还冒出浓浓的烟,热气上来时,扑鼻的香味也跟着冲进鼻子里,非常诱人。

This dish reminds me of broiled fish stall located in Midvalley Oasis food court. Why I will link this two dishes together? This is because both of them serve with rice, the sauce is spicy and sour. Futhermore, one will sweat a lot after taking in, very appetizing dish! Served on the table, there is smoke coming up, the pungent smell from the dish goes into the nose, makes one's saliva drops.


Peanut Curry Chicken RM 9.90

用香茅,黄姜,辣椒,鸡,花生和椰浆制作的香花咖哩鸡味道带咸和辣,但是似乎没什么特别。

Cooked with lemongrass, turmeric, pepper, chicken, peanuts and coconut milk, the curry chicken taste spicy and salty, other than that nothing special for me.

Mui Choy Stewed Pork Belly RM9.90
本人少吃猪肉,甚至有点抗拒,所以就写朋友对这猪肚的味道。这是朋友对这盘菜肴的看法:『很够味,不会太咸,肉煮得很软,肥皮都不会太难吃,皮吃起来也很甜。』

I rarely eat pork, so here is what my friend said about the dish:『Very tasty, not too salty, the meat cooked very soft, fat skin is  palatable and tastes sweet.』

Homemade Braised Pork Forepaw RM10.90

朋友的评论:『猪的前蹄煮到很软很软,很香甜,吃起来像叉烧包里面的馅料,肥的地方吃到很甜以及弹牙,有很丰富的胶原蛋白。』

这个菜肴是大家都说赞的一道!据说他是厨师Ben身在怡保的妈妈的辣手小菜,是家传秘方哦!

My friend comment:『The forepaw of the pork is very soft of texture, very sweet smelling, it taste like fillings inside cha siew pao, even the fat is also sweet and al dente,rich with collagen.』

This dish is everyone says good one.I was told that the dish recipe is originated from Chef Ben's Mum who stays in Ipoh. That is their family's secret recipe!

Spinach Noodle with Pork Meat Dumpling (soup) RM 9.90 
 
菠菜面条在民间流行已久。以前在沙登的时候,常去那里的小食档口吃菠菜板面和拉面,这次居然有菠菜干捞云吞面,感觉有点新鲜!说味道的话,感觉酱汁较少,有点干以及面还是会缠在一起。

餐单上还有列明此食物的简单介绍:『菠菜面属于精品主食,主要原料是白面,菠菜,口味是甜,工艺是煮,制作难度属于中级。菠菜味甘,性凉,具有补血止血,利五脏,通肠胃,调中气,活血脉,止咳润肺,敛阴润燥,滋阴平肝,助消化的功效。』一句说完,菠菜非常适合女生或贫血者享用。

Spinach noodle has long been popular in use among local folks. I used to eat spinach noodle in form of pan mee and ramen at famous Serdang hawker stall in those times. This time I have a chance to taste dry wantan mee made from spinach, it sounds something new! Commenting about the taste, I feel that the sauce is too little, a bit dry and the noodle tends to stick together.

Inside the menu, there is simple introduction about the food:『Spinach noodle is staple food,main ingredients are white noodle, spinach, tastes sweet, used to cook, medium level of preparation. Spinach is sweet, cool in nature, supply the blood, stop bleeding, good for five internal organs, clears off stomach and intestine, tune in 'Qi' in body, activate blood, stop coughing, moisturize lung, convergence of 'Yin', moisturize 'Yin', help digestive system.』In simple words, it is good for those anemia and woman.


Pork Meat Dumpling (soup) 

这汤是随菠菜面一同送上的,里面没记错的话有4粒猪肉丸。每粒肉丸都是皮厚厚,厨师说这是因为防止猪肉汁在煲滚的时候流出汤里,那么吃起来就没什么味道了。

The soup is served together with the spinach noodle. If I am not mistaken, there are total of 4 pork balls. The skin of pork ball is very thick as the chef said to prevent the juice from meat from leaking out into the soup during process of boiling. If so happens, the pork balls will be tasteless.


Seafood Carbonara RM12.90

刚才介绍的都是中式以及本地式菜肴,现在这两道是西餐哦!这面条的配料全是海鲜,有苏东,虾,鱼蛋以及青蚌。吃那虾肉时,有点吃惊,肉身很软,似乎是生的没烹煮过,非常松软,不像煮过的虾肉那么硬,赞哦!第二特别的地方是除了寿司以外,我都没看过厨师把鱼蛋放在意大利面里面,很创新的作法。

What I introduced just now is Chinese and local style of dish, next two is Western style! I have seafood like sotong, prawn, fish roe and green mussel in the dish. When I taste the prawn, it surprising me by the softness of the meat texture, it tastes like never been cooked, not same with those cooked prawn, thumbs up! Another special thing is besides sushi, I never see a chef who put fish roe inside the pasta, very innovative way of doing it.


Black Pepper Chicken Chop RM 14.90
黑胡椒鸡扒似乎在所有西餐厅都可以见到。不过这家店面给的鸡扒酱汁是很多的哦!一点也不吝啬!我们去过一些西餐厅,酱汁给不多,若还要的话,还要另外加钱呢!鸡肉做得很松软,味道已经渗入鸡肉内,也是不错的一道菜肴!只不过个人不是很喜欢吃那蛋碎酱,纯粹个人口味问题。

Black Pepper Chicken Chop can be seen in any where of restaurant that serve Western dish. But the sauce given by the restaurant is many much compare to some restaurant that I went before. Some even charge if you want to order extra sauce from them!Back to the topic, the chicken meat is flabby, the taste of the sauce penetrated into the meat, is also a good dish in. However, I don't like the smashed egg sauce, this is my personal taste problem.
