Lekkers Cafe, Viva Home Cheras

There are a lot of new cafe opening in Klang Valley. It is like bamboo shoots after a spring rain. I was invited by a friend early of April to a special themed cafe in Viva Home Cheras for dining. It is named Lekkers Cafe, Lekkers in dutch means scrumptious.

Tropical Delight RM8.90
The drink in a flask looks like a light bulb. According to the owner, the flask is bought from Pudu market.

Cappucino RM7.90

Chocolate RM11.90
I got my ice blended chocolate too. It was great to have one during the hot weather.

Lekkers Curry Spaghetti with Fish Fillet RM13.90

Lekkers Curry Spaghetti with Pork Chop RM12.90
The curry spaghetti is their creation, combination of the West and the East. We normally have spaghetti either in aglio olio form, carbonara sauce or bolognaise but they put it with curry! Well, I have to say the spaghetti goes well with the curry and al-dente even though was left in the curry soup for some time.

Nissin Soup Noodle with Pork Chop and Egg RM12.90

OP Pork Chop Bun RM8.90
The sumptuous pork chop burger for the burger lover :) It looks very tempting and appetizing.

While waiting for all the food to be served, we are allowed to get some of the transformer toys from the cupboard of the cafe to play around. I'm not a super fan of transformer, but I am pretty amazed with it when seeing them transform from a dinosaur to a fighting warrior equipped with weapons. I have been told that some of these collections are very precious as the owner collected since young which is about 30 years ago.

I just wondered if I can bring one home xoxo

Grilled Chicken Chop with Mushroom Soup Spaghetti RM15.90

Thanks for friend and owner for inviting us and celebrate our birthday - April born babies. Here is our birthday cake prepared by the owner who purposely bought it from a hotel :) For more photos, you can always check my instagram for the update on that day.

Thank you all :) April indeed is an unforgettable fun month for me!

Dragon Run Special Preview

Hot! Hot! Hot! The weather currently is freaking hot. I have to turn on the air conditioner to the maximum to cold down the car under the hot sun! I just feel like in a big oven. Hope the El-nino phenomenon will be over soon!

Now, that's a long time I did not update anything. In the meantime, I do go and join event but all during weekend. I was invited for an exclusive preview of dragon run in Gohtong Jaya few weeks back. It is not merely a normal marathon run but incorporates martial arts along the way.

Get your adrenaline pumped up, flex your muscles, learn some martial arts stunts.

Dragon Run is an adrenaline-pumping 6km run around a course that incorporates eye-catching and challenging Martial Arts-inspired obstacles.

5 Dragon Run gigantic martial art themed inflatables including 60 meter long Giant Dragon, Wobbly Sumo Head, Kick Maze, Muay Thai Palm Tree Forest and the Jeet Kune Do Big Boss are set up during the special preview session.

Start at the towering Dragon Gate before taking on the monstrous Giant Dragon, the complex Kung Fu-inspired all-in-one obstacle that will test your balance, endurance and agility. Then complete a course of 10 gigantic martial arts obstacles in the styles of Dragon Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Sumo and Jeet Kune Do that promises an adrenaline and endorphins-pumping experience.

Upon completion, enjoy the rest of the day with your fellow Dragon Run tribesmen at the Dragon Village, where a plethora of food and beverage offerings, carnival games and combat demonstrations await. Otherwise, sit back, enjoy the live feed of the run and cheer for your fellow runners.

Whilst Dragon Village is open for all ages, the obstacle run requires participants aged 12 or above. Minors 12 to 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult during the run.

Hatyai Train Station

There are a lot more stories from my Hatyai trip last January but I am too busy to write about it. Today, I squeeze out some time to share some pictures at Hatyai train station. Hatyai is a bit countryside and looks like 10 years back compared with KL. There aren't any tall building and attractions. Malaysian who stay in North come for shopping and food. Therefore, train station might be interesting place to visit since it connects Malaysia and other parts of Thailand.

One of the things that makes tourists happy is the English signboard at train station as we cant read Thai unless we have taken some Thai language lesson before.

Departure > Arrival

The railway platform makes me stunning as they allow passengers to pass through it. Well, perhaps they already make it safe for all when the train is not arriving/approaching.

There is an information counter at the railway platform.

Grateful she answered my inquiry with patience. She is kinda friendly even though at last I did not buy any ticket from her.

Different rate for different time of departure, duration of time and type of seating. The cheapest rate is THB259. The highest rate is THB 1594, but one has to endure approximately 15 hours in the train. Are you the one who can sit long hours in train? Well, it really depends on your budget, motive of travel and etc. Some might find it adventurous and interesting as the journey along the railway enables one to see some breathtaking views and more interaction with local with better understanding of their lifestyles which is not possible to make it on road trip and flight.

Well, one can travel to Thai from Malaysia now with 3 different modes of transport: plane, bus/car or train. My advice is to choose according to your own comfort and budget.

Affordable Seafood Dinner @ Ocean Seafood Restaurant

I rarely go to Puchong as I'm not staying nearby that area. But hunting for good food is one of the reason for me to travel that far. I just recently been invited for dinner at Ocean Seafood, Puchong.

Lucky enough that day as we managed to find parking within 5 minutes after reaching that place. RM15 signboard is clearly seen. Well, the crab costs only RM15? Read more for my sharing!

The price of crab is stated at the white board. The rate is changing according to market price daily and different with different crab size. RM15 for crab? Yes, it is true. For M size crab weigh between 200-250g, it is only RM45 for 3 crabs in a dish cooked either with butter milk, kam heong, black pepper or marmite. You can opt for other cooking method such as salted egg yolk, sweet & sour, chili, curry, steamed egg white or Indonesian style with additional charge.

It was quite crowded and some people were lining up waiting for the queue during my visit.

Golden beancurd RM12
I arrange the picture of the dish we had that night in ascending order of price. Well, even though it is deep  fried, it is non oily and crunchy at the same time. Taste wise, of course it is finger licking good, and the fastest dish to finish at our table.

Chao Dou fish RM15

Garlic scallop RM15
Salted steam chicken RM15

Prawn cooked in Indonesian style RM15

Fried broccoli with shrimp RM15

Some vegetables to balance out the diet of the day. We need fiber for every diet :)

Kapitan squid RM18

It looks tempting at the sizzling hot pan when the smoke brought the fragrance into our nostrils. The squid cooked with sweet and savoury sauce which make it appetizing!
                                              Hong ban fish RM36

Crab in superior soup size XXL RM88 (2 crabs)

Buttermilk crab size XXL RM88 (2 crabs)
The highlight of the day is the crab. How could one miss out the crab when dining at seafood restaurant? Every thing is given out in luxury portion, and there are crab roe stick at each shell. According to the owner, they have suppliers who bring in the crabs twice a day! Well, it means all crabs are freshly prepared. The crabs are imported from Indonesia.

This is the bill of the night. Total damage is RM326 including the Chinese tea for 6 pax.
