A Visit to Koperasi Serbaguna Pembatek Kelantan Berhad @ Kelantan

If you ask me one thing to represent Malaysia, of course I will say batik.

"Batik is a technique of manual wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloth, or cloth made using this technique." (from wikipedia)

若你问我马来西亚的代表物件,那么我会说巴蒂布。

Few months ago, I was invited by Gaya Travel Magazine to visit all coop in Kelantan in collaboration with SKM. One of the coop is Koperasi Serbaguna Pembatek Kelantan Berhad.

Koperasi Serbaguna Pembatek Kelantan Berhad (COOP) has around 400 members. The main function of the organization is to supply quality white cloth with competitive price to the local batik business owner. The white cloth all imported from China which is the largest producer of white cloth.

One of the fun activity that day was batik painting.

After that, the person in charge led us to the display room where one will be fascinated with the colourful and beautifully painted batik.

My 'masterpiece' LOL... err  I tried to create different tones with the flowers part but end up like above

All done

Yeah! That's my first time painting batik....it's not easy to control colour LOL may be I have no art sense ><

However, if you wanna buy a quality batik, do drop by this place to have a look.

  5. 我N年前有去过kelantan, 当时也有参观batik厂, 我觉得穿在我身上不好看, 如果做成画, 挂在墙上更好看, 哈哈! ^^

  8. Yes, our batik is very unique in its own style. At least you tried your hand on batik. It was not easy at all. Need patience and artistic skill.
