The 5 Watsons celebrity friend had the opportunity of a lifetime for a shopping spree experience with 10 lucky media members and blogger’s community. They were divided into 5 groups and challenged to a timed shopping spree for Watsons Brand products at Watsons new concept store in Sunway Pyramid. The winning team received the biggest cheer as they brought home the whole Watsons Brand products that were snapped during the shopping spree, nearing the amount of RM888. 11street Buka Puasa @ Jeumpa d'Ramo

I was invited to 11street Buka Puasa event last week. During the event, Mr Hoseok Kim, CEO of 11 street revealed their findings on Malaysian spending habit to all media and blogger community and the offers available at the website during Raya festive season. Conducted from May 16 to June 6 with over 2000 respondents, the goal of the survey was to provide a better understanding on the expenses of the nation as Hari Raya approaches. The response, acting as the voice of the nation, delves into 3 important categories – spending patterns, priorities and platform of choice.

Mr Hoseok Kim said the survey shows that baju Raya is still the most necessary item during the Raya celebration because it has significant ties to the traditions of Hari Raya. 78% of the respondents stated that they will purchase new Hari Raya clothing before purchasing any other items which include accessories, shoes, and luxury branded goods. The survey did, however, show an increase in brand consciousness in men when purchasing Raya clothing.

The survey also shows that 95% of Malaysians are positive about online shopping suggesting that technology is playing a big role in the establishment of e-commerce. Kim adds, “E-commerce is again proven to be a go-to outlet with many are positive with the possibilities of purchasing things online. As Hari Raya approaches, we are expecting more people to turn towards online shopping in the interest of convenience and time.”

With valuable insights from the survey, Kim also highlighted, “It is important to understand the consumer first, then being able to provide when the economy hinders the spending power of the consumer. With this festive period upon us, 11street acknowledges the means to purchase something considered a necessity at an affordable price.”

Spacestatic Adventure With Ice Age: Collison Course

Leading up to the opening of world’s first Twentieth Century Fox World Theme Park at Resorts World Genting in 2017, there are many exciting activities in store. Such as the Spacetastic Adventure with Ice Age: Collision Course at Resorts World Genting this June. The release of the upcoming movie will be celebrated with a series of fun activities at Resorts World Genting. Spacetastic Adventure with Ice Age: Collision Course will be held from 4 June to 24 July 2016, a promise to be as exciting as it sounds. 

Apart from the special premiere screening of the movie on 5 July, all in the family can join the line-up of events at the resort, from an educational interactive game and social media contest to meet-and-greet sessions with the popular characters from the show.

What is Ice Age Collision Course about? This time, Scrat's pursuit of his elusive acorn catapults him into outer space where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that threaten Earth. The other lovable characters from the show, Manny, Sid and Diego lead the rest of herd on a quest that is full of thrills and spills, along the way providing lots of laughter. Like the movie tagline suggests, it's “one small step and one giant mess”!


Spacetastic Adventure Challenge is a fun interactive game and activities for whole duration of 10 mins. School Holiday Carnival with Power Rangers at Resorts World Genting

Last week was school holiday. In conjunction with it, Resorts World Genting was having a great show to have fun with the school kids. My famous childhood TV show, Power Rangers was put to live on stage in Genting International Showroom from 28 May to 26 June 2016. The one-hour show features an international cast and crew—specifically 25 Japanese joining forces with 15 Malaysians to make the production a reality. They will bring to life the actions Power Rangers are best known for—in this case, battling Sledge's Army for the magical Energems that hold invincible powers.

The live show is based on the two Power Rangers television series, the popular Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and Dino Charge. The Rangers, the five warriors chosen by the Energems to protect Earth and to prevent it from falling into evil hands, find themselves repeatedly engaged in battle with the villains, Fury, Poisandra and their sidekicks. One of the Power Rangers, Pink, is captured by the villains—along with an Energem. The fate of the world then lies in the hands of the rest of the Power Rangers—they have to free Pink and regain the Energem.

Tickets to the live show at Genting International Showroom are priced at RM108 (VIP), RM88 (PS1) and RM68 (PS2). Buka Puasa with AnCasa Hotel & Spa KL

Last week, I received a Buka Puasa invitation from a friend who works as a PR in AnCasa Hotel KL. Due to this reason, I have become their regular guest! LOL...I came late as I was rushing from Serdang to go back home to take a short bath before fetching my dad together for the dinner. The PR who is my friend is really an awesome woman. I am very busy this month, sometimes I either forget to reply or no time to reply via email. She personally whatsapp me asking if I could come few days after email invitation sent. I just replied "OK" a very brief reply to her and she said: "ACik will rsvp for u and ur dad yeah!" I was like "wow" she already knew what is in my mind! She still remembered I brought my dad to Ramadhan Buka Puasa last year. Anyway, for event like the one with "makan-makan" I always bring my family member as my plus one because after marry or if we work at other place, there is lesser time I could spend with them. Or should I say a bit of rewarding for my parents since they really working hard to raise me up and supporting me to continue my PhD while others already start working to earn money.

Well, that's my personal encounter with the hotel personnel. On that day, they offered bubur lambuk for free to public starting at 3pm which is the tradition of the hotel during Ramadhan. They also gave away 500 food packs to community stayed at Pudu Sentral and China Town. The charity move indirectly foster unity among multi-racial society.

This year, the AnCasa Hotel & Spa, Kuala Lumpur combines elements of 60's theme and unveil memories with the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee to commemorate the death of this impressive artist on May 29, 1973. The glory of him as an artist is irreplaceable until now. Although he has left us for a very long time, but his name is still a household name and his artwork still take place in the national art arena.

Offering more than 120 dishes including the "live" stall is sure to excite the appetite of visitors like Apam Balik, Satay, Laksa Asam, Golek Lamb, various selection of Setapak soup, dozens options of desserts and sweets. All these are prepared by talenetd Chef Yohanis, Chef Mariam& Chef Syukri.

My simple dinner on that night with Nasi Kerabu. We can not stuff everything into our little stomach. I always go around to have a look on all offerings before deciding what to eat. Most important, I never waste any food on my plate. I never leave my plate with food that untouched, it is such a waste for me, I hate people who doing so either the adults or the kids. Well, that's my two cents.

Taste of Kota Bahru (TOKB) Cafe

 TOKB is the very first military concept cafe in Malaysia. Strategically located at Petaling Jaya which is not far away from University Malaya Medical Centre, this latest eatery is certainly a must visit place for all! TOKB stands for Taste of Kota Bahru, the cafe serves up tantalizing Kelantanese dishes prepared by 2 head chefs, namely Puan Norma binti Salleh from Kelantan, lovingly dubbed as Kak Ma by others and Lucas Lee, one of the 2 founders of the cafe.
The cafe occupies a fair area of the ground floor of the newly built 18 storey Avenue D'Vogue and has ample parking space in the basement with some lots reserved for cafe diners on the ground floor.
TOKB cafe serves authentic Kelantanese fare such as Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Dagang, Laksam, Nasi Rocket (Nasi Tumpang), and Teh Atom (Teh Tarik Madu). They also offer Japanese and Western tidbits like Edamame and Smoked Salmon canapes demonstrating the 2 ruling powers who landed in Malaya in early days.

Nasi Kerabu RM17.90
Nasi Kerabu is a fragrant blue rice served with ayam goreng. kerisik sambal ikan, solok lada, salted egg, fresh aromatic herbs accompanied by budu and sambal belacan. It is a signature dish of Kelantanese.

Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak RM16.90
This is the favourite dish among us. The paste is tasty which has been corporate with durian and really appetizing to eat together with rice!

Nasi Rocket RM15.90

Nasi Rocket with Beef Serunding is a special dish for me. The concept is like the dumpling however Nasi Rocket has a different shape and the filling is separate by layer. Diners can choose either fish serunding or beef serunding stuffing together with gulai ikan tonggol and gulai udang. It is traditionally known as Nasi Tunpang, the multi-tiered cone shaped rice was once a convenient, daily fuel for fishermen, farmers, workers on the go!

Laksa is one of our famous Malaysian cuisine. There are many different presentations and every state has its own laksa. This flat rice noodle rolls in creamy white fish and coconut gravy is known as laksam, laksa of Kelantan.

Teh  Atom is teh tarik with honey. The honey adds a good dose of natural sweetness to Malaysian's favourite drink, at the same time contributing to its intense frothy texture!

Spanning over 6000 sq feet, the cafe has a semi outdoor area for alfresco dining, an indoor air conditioned area and a cosy mezannine floor, all in all seating around 100 diners comfortably. And for private functions, the area can be further extended to accommodate up to 300 pax!
