A visit to Lan E Tuyang Homestay @ Bau, Sarawak

Here comes the third post of my Sarawak tour visit. Previous post covers about the city tour, now comes another different sights of Sarawak. During the three days tour, I had an opportunity to visit Lan E Tuyang Homestay, located at Bau, Sarawak, 45 minutes drive from Kuching city.

It is a very simple wooden bamboo house, made with natural ingredients, all from the nature.

This is called bunga jarau. Made from the wood. When they cut into long tiny sheets, it curls naturally. The indigenous people use it as a decoration in the house.

Here comes the blonde xo

The pillar that made using the tree.

The floor made using bamboo. I felt weird when walking on it, may be I scared I slipped my feet into the gap xoxo

Matthew Ngau Jau, Sape player master! I'm so in love with the music he plays with the sape. He is a very talented player. He said he learnt to play sape himself without instructor! If you went Rainforest World Music Festival before, you sure know who is he!

Next, we went to a place for a thanksgiving ceremony.

While waiting for the ceremony to start, I saw the indigenous people wearing a very special hat. So I get one and try ^^

I saw another very nice hat ^^

The indigenous people practice animisme. In old days, they used human's blood as offering now they using animal's blood instead for the thanksgiving ceremony.

Before sacrifice the animal, they clean the animal with river water.
