New Grand Menu Launch @ Watami, 1 Utama

WATAMI (和民)comes from the name of their founder, Watanabe Miki. At the same time, in Japanese Kanji, WA (和) means harmony, TAMI (民) means people, therefore, WATAMI means "gather people to dine in harmony" as well. 

和民(WATAMI) 源自创始人的名字,Watanabe Miki。同时间,在日本汉字里面,WA (和)代表和谐,TAMI (民) 代表人民,所以WATAMI就是把人民聚在一起和谐用餐的意思。


The Watami Group established in 1984, started off in the dining-out restaurant business with the key concept of providing a place for all occasions and a comfortable space. The Watami Group developed the Ishokuya concept "Watami" in 1992, restaurants that guests can wine while they dine (and vice versa) while spending time enjoying the company of others in a comfortable atmosphere. The meaning of Ishokuya is: Scene (居), Meal (食),Restaurant (屋).

On 13 of June, Watami Malaysia unveiled 20 new gastronomic dishes originating from Tokyo including a new pork menu in a Grand Feast at its flagship outlets at 1 Utama. The new dishes comprised part of the Grand Menu which features over 100 varieties of original Watami fusion fare.

 6月13日,马来西亚和民居食屋1 Utama的旗舰店的一场盛大宴会中,推出了20个源自东京,新的美食佳肴,包括一个新的猪肉餐单新菜组成的大菜单,设有100多个和民原始融合的菜式。


Salmon Sashimi Salad RM16.90
For health conscious diners like me, Salmon Sashimi Salad is a good option.  It consists of refreshing blend of julienned radish, onion and crispy seaweed tossed with aromatic fried wonton skin, a healthy amount of mixed nuts as well as soft, tender slices of fresh salmon and drizzled with a fresh Grapefruit dressing. It opens up my appetite!

像我较注意健康的人,鲑鱼沙律是个很好的选择。里面有切丝萝卜,酥脆海草,香煎馄饨皮,健康的杂豆以及松嫩新鲜的鲑鱼配上柚子酱,非常开胃!


Salmon & Maguro Carpaccio RM21.90

An alternative to salmon dish is the Salmon & Maguro Carpaccio which offers thin-sliced salmon and tuna sashimi with a distinct Italian garlic sea-clam sauce and green garlic dressing made from garlic, olive oil, spinach and perilla leaf. The fish slices are fresh!

另个健康的选项是薄片鲑鱼和金枪鱼刺身。鱼身上淋上浓浓的意大利蒜香海蛤酱以及由蒜米,橄榄油,菠菜和紫苏叶制作的青蒜米沙拉酱,味道独特。当然鱼肉是非常新鲜的哦!


Anago Tempura Maki RM12.90

Lovers of good sushi will appreciate the delectable Anago Tempura Maki. Last time we having fried sea eel, now we can have sea eel in Anago Tempura Maki together with nori, rice, cucumber and takuan sesame.

喜欢寿司的人应该会喜欢美味的星鳗鱼天妇罗卷。以前我们吃的是煎鳗鱼,现在我们可以把鳗鱼放去寿司里与紫菜,饭,青瓜以及甘味芝麻搭配一起享用。

Puchi Tomato Butanika Maki Kushi RM4.90 (1 pcs) & Tamago Yaki Sushi RM1.80 (1 pcs)


One can opt for Tamago Yaki Sushi if you like egg. It is common that I have no comment to give. Price wise, I think is same with the one sold in Jusco.

若喜欢吃蛋的话,可以选择玉子烧寿司。这寿司很普遍,我也没什么意见。价钱的话,我觉得跟Jusco里面卖的一样,不会贵。

On a same plate with Tamago Yaki Sushi is Puchi Tomato Butanika Maki Sushi which features succulent pork rolled with cherry tomato on a skewer and grilled till golden brown. One need to beware while eating, as upon biting the bacon wrap, the juices from the tomato and bacon spurted out in my mouth and some even on the table. It seem like a breach of etiquette during dining. But believe me this is a great dining experience and pleasant surprise to me. 

与寿司放在同盘的是车哩茄猪肉卷。
车哩茄外面利用猪肉包裹着,烤至金巧克力色。当你吃的时候,得要小心因为当一口咬下去的时候,茄子的酱汁便会喷出来,甚至还弄到桌子。这好像有点失礼哦!不过,这真的是一个美好的餐饮体验以及带给我一些惊喜。


Kushi Moriawase RM19.90
Kushi Moriawase is an assorted skewer dish with a chicken wing, chicken thigh, chicken gristle, beef and eringi mushroom roll and beef and spring onion roll. I think it is tad oily for me but the texture and taste is acceptable even without sauce.

Kushi Moriawase串烧盛合,里面有鸡翅膀,鸡屁股,鸡脆骨,牛肉以及eringi蘑菇卷和牛肉以及洋葱卷。我想这对我而言是有点油但是质感以及味道就算没有配上任何酱汁乃行。


Kankoku Butechige RM25.90
Kankoku Butechige is Korean inspired, army style mini cauldron of decadent ingredients ranging fresh vegetables, pork and noodles to sea clams, korean rice cakes and kimchi in a special spicy broth. I think it is special to have Korean dish in Japan restaurant. We found great varieties of ingredients inside the hot pot. I can regard this as complete diet and it is best to have this to share among friends due to its large portion.

Kankoku Butechige 源自韩国,部队迷你锅的配料有新鲜的青菜,猪肉,米粉,海蛤,韩国年糕以及泡菜,全都在一个特制热辣的汤内。我觉得在日本餐厅吃韩国菜肴是很特别的事。我们发现在热锅里面有好多种材料。我可以说这是完整的饮食以及最好的是与朋友一起分享因为成分很多。


Rosu Katsu RM22.90

Rosu Katsu is deep fried pork cutlet with shredded cabbage and sesame dressing. I wonder why the pork cutlet is so thick?? Then, I get this answer> "Each of the cutlet is cut almost into the same size and followed the Japanese recipe," said by Nelson Wang, President of operations and business development, Chaswood Group. It is not oily to me. The pork is not juicy but very crispy at the outer surface.

吉列猪扒是深炸猪排搭配切碎的白菜和芝麻酱。我在想为何猪肉那么厚啊?然后,我得到这个答案....“每一块猪肉块都是切成一样大小和全部都照着日本的食谱来做,” Nelson Wang, Chaswood 集团,行政以及商业开发总裁说道。对我而言,它不会很油。猪肉也没有很多汁但是外皮却很脆口。

Tokyo Rosu Katsu Don RM23.90

If you think that pork cutlet can't satisfy you, you have better option like Tokyo Rosu Katsu Don. It is a classic dish of prime cut deep fried pork loin in a golden pool of scrambled egg and homemade Watami Katsu sauce, served on a bed of warm rice and garnished with fresh spring onion. Colour, flavour and taste is there in a bowl of 
Tokyo Rosu Katsu Don.

吉列猪扒满足不到你,那么你还有个选择,那就是东京滑蛋猪扒饭。这是经典的菜肴,把深炸猪腰放在一个金黄色的炒蛋以及自制的和民甜酱,温热的端上桌,再以葱作装饰。色香味俱全的一道料理。

Hiroshima-fu-Okonomiyaki RM18.90
Fans of the savoury Japanese pancake will find joy in the Hiroshima-fu-Okonomiyaki which tempts the most resolute of dieters with juicy pork slices on a okonomiyaki  base slathered with a special sauce, dried bonito and a sprinkling of Aonori flakes.

咸味日本煎饼的粉丝应该会喜欢广岛烧饼(猪肉,海老),因为它在杂样煎菜饼的底涂满特制酱汁再配上多汁的猪肉片,鲣鱼干以及Aonori片,诱使吃客们的味蕾。

Anchovies & Garlic Seafood Pizza RM24.90
Can anyone tell me who doesn't like pizza? Anchovies & Garlic Seafood Pizza is sure to delight pizza and seafood lovers with squid, shrimp and scallops loaded on a bed of home made tomato sauce infused with anchovies and garlic, and blanketed with a layer of piping hot melted cheese. The thin pizza crust compliments the toppings with a perfect crunch whilst the Japanese pesto sauce adds an extra zing in every bite. The thin layer of pizza is much like a biscuit to me, and it is interesting to have scallops in pizza too.

有人可以告诉我不喜欢吃比萨吗?蒜吞鳗鱼海鲜比萨一定可以满足喜欢比萨以及海鲜的一族。鱿鱼,虾,扇贝,江鱼仔以及蒜米附在自制的番茄酱内,并覆盖着一层热气腾腾融化
的奶酪,薄片比萨搭配上面的配料给人觉得好脆口,同时间日本的香蒜酱汁也增加其口感。对我而言,这薄片比萨好像一个饼干,以及在比萨里面放入扇贝乃是一门有趣的事。


Watami Tonkotsu Ramen RM22.90

As an ode to its Japanese heritage, Watami also introduced its very own Tonkotsu Ramen, combining the two Japanese classic of Ramen and Tonkotsu into one instantly recognizable dish. Rashers of pork chashu float in a special pork broth surrounded by the classic ingredients of flavoured half-boiled egg, crispy beansprouts and bamboo shoots, with a dash of Japanese leek and spring onion. Other bloggers complained that is too salty, but for me as second time having this, it was okay for me as they followed Japanese original recipe.

为了歌颂日本的文化,和民居食物也推出自家的拉面(猪骨汤)(叉烧),结合了两种日本的经典材料,那就是拉面和猪骨在一个易识的菜肴内。叉烧浮在一个特制的猪肉汤内,被各种经典材料如半生熟蛋,脆豆芽,竹笋以及一些日本韭菜和葱给包围。有些博客投诉说太咸,但是对于第二次尝试的我,我觉得其实还好,因为他们都是遵照日本的原始食谱制作。


Kara Miso Ramen RM22.90
Watami also offers Kara Miso which features ramen, bean sprouts, half boiled egg, pork chashu and Japanese leek in a spicy miso based soup. It look like local curry mee, but the broth is not as thick as local made.

和民居食屋也有辣味噌拉面 (叉烧)。除了拉面,里面有豆芽,半生熟蛋,叉烧以及日本韭菜,但是这次汤不是猪骨熬,而是味噌底加点辣在里头。有点像本地的咖哩面,但是咖哩汁没有像本地那么浓郁。

 Ishiyaki Kaisen Garlic Rice RM29.90

Ishiyaki Kaisen Garlic Rice is a blend of rice, shrimp, scallop, egg, tobikko, shredded nori, garlic butter, Dashi soy sauce and spring onion served in hot pot. For seafood lover like me, I love this Ishiyaki Kaisen Garlic Rice as rarely found in other place and normally the hawkers only sell with chicken inside. However, when it served on table, we need to faster ladle out the rice to prevent burn.

石锅蒜香海鲜饭融合了大米,虾,扇贝,鸡蛋,tobikko(蛋),紫菜碎,大蒜酱,大石酱油和葱切丝在个热腾腾的锅内,香气十足。喜欢吃海鲜的我,非常喜爱这一道石锅蒜香海鲜饭,在外面很难找到,平时卖的都是石锅鸡饭。不过一端上来的时候,得快点捞来吃,要不然下面的饭就会烧焦。



Watami Tokusei Tori Karaage RM17.90
Other appetisers include the Watami Tokusei Tori Karaage or special fried chicken. I forgot how is the taste, as it was too much on that day. But it look very tempting right?

其他开胃菜还包括和民特制葱油汁炸鸡。至于味道我真的忘记了,因为实在太多。但是它看起来很诱人对吧?
Jikasei Niku Miso Hiyaako RM9.90
Jikasei Niku Miso Hiyaako is essentially silken cubes of cold tofu served with flavoured minced meat and Japanese leek. The dish is supposed to serve in cold but comes in room temperature. I think this Japanese appetizer looked almost same with Chinese tofu dish but serve in hot.

自家制肉味噌冷豆腐是丝绸立方体冷豆腐搭配碎肉以及日本韭菜。这豆腐上桌时应该是冷的,但是却感觉是温室度数。我想这日本开胃菜看起来真的很像华人的豆腐,但差别就是这是冷盘。


Chicken Katsu Kare RM23.90
Chicken Katsu Kare features a crumbed chicken cutlet rice with Japanese sweet curry. The Japanese curry is very thick and best to served with rice. I think that the curry is less spicy compared to Malaysian made.


咖哩炸鸡扒饭是鸡扒饭配上日本的甜咖哩。日本的咖哩质地很厚,最好是跟饭一起搭配。我想这咖哩比起马来西亚的比较没那么辣。

Yasai Kinoko Itame RM16.90
For those with a preference for stir-fried dishes, Yasai Kinoko Itami serves up an appetizing hot plate of sliced pork, cabbage, carrot, Enoki mushroom, Shimeiji mushroom and Shiitake mushroom, bean sprouts and nira.

什菌野菜炒(猪肉)是开胃的热盘猪片,包菜,萝卜,Enoki蘑菇,shimeiji蘑菇,shiitake蘑菇,豆芽以及紫菜一起爆炒。对于喜欢吃煮炒的人,这应该是个不错的选择。


Unagi Chawanmushi RM7.90
Someone forgot to serve us Unagi Chawanmushi and it came last after we reminded the kitchen to prepare for us. The steamed egg is firm in texture and overall I'm satisfy with the dish.

有人忘记我们还没上这鳗鱼茶碗蒸,最后提醒厨房才弄好给我们。这蒸蛋的质地是实的,大致上我都很满意。


这是我在还未坐下来就叫的巧克力饮料,上面有oreo饼干以及vanilla奶油,浓浓的巧克力味道,是许多女生的最爱!

I have this chocolate drink before the food being served on table. At the top, there is a oreo biscuit and vanilla cream, the the strong chocolate flavour is most girl's favourite!

吃了大概20样菜,我们的饮料也喝完了。最后我们也来杯和民居食屋的招牌饮料,真的很大杯哦!

After having 20 dishes, our drink is finished. Last, we order Watami signature drink, it is called big drink, and it is really big!

Watami Sake RM47.90
Indulge in the natural aroma and crisp lightness of sake brewed with dedication to perfection.


人家说好料衬底,这真的是很贴切。我们为了等先前忘了端上桌的菜肴,而得在那等候。其他博客吃饱后,已经离开,只剩下我们4人。后来,摄影师说看到这日本酒(和民)在餐厅外的海报很特别很精致,Nelson就派员工端上桌,二话不说就打开给我们品尝。哇,这味道很清甜哦!这次在这里真的很享受,因为在这里,客户是‘大完’,可以吃喝到几点都没有赶人买单离开,所以那天我们也在餐厅待到很久才离开。这就是日本餐厅应有的礼貌啊!
