Water Cress Valley Restaurant @ Cameron Highlands (Part 3: Eat)

Our dinner for the first night was settled at Water Cress Valley. Watercrest Valley is located on Tringkap side on the main road. Coming from Gerard's Place, it needs about 20 minutes of driving journey. The guests in Water Cress Valley mostly order steamboat for their dinner. There are plantations beside the restaurant which diners could visit for free.

The sky was still bright when we reached.

The parking slot is not much at the roadside beside the restaurant.

The restaurant built at a higher level which overlook the farm that belongs to them too.

Before our food came, I grabbed the chance to have a look at their farm. The farm has plentiful of wildly grown unique flowers which rarely seen anywhere in Malaysia.

I thought to walk further down to take some pictures but it was too late. The sky turned dark already. I guess I took too long to admire the nature/ flowers and taking photos.

The menu of the restaurant with most dishes made from their farm vegetables. We ordered stewed emperor noodles and stewed handmade noodles with mushroom with a thumb up sign (meaning recommended by the restaurant). We also ordered a herbal egg and soup.

Both also disappointing. It was too salty to our palate. I suspect they use a lot of MSG flavouring. The herbal egg also not as tasty as those sold in Purple Cane.

They also produce sweet snack made from chayote. It is also known as Buddhist's hand squash by Chinese.

There are not much eatery in Cameron Highlands. Water Cress Valley is recommended by my friend. But we don't find it any special for the food they serve. Hope they can improve it in future.

Comments

  1. It's a pity that the food didn't live up to expectations, because the place was very interesting.
