Afterwerk's New Menu @ Scott Garden

AFTERWERK is now under re-branding by new management team which features a renewed gust of possibilities in the food and beverage option available at Scott Garden, Old Klang Road. With a spanking brand new stage and frills, daily changing LIVE bands and the best fnb promotions to go it is a one stop haven to hit for a quiet birthday or a gregarious party!


Situated at the party hub centrally located Scott Garden, the re-newed Afterwerks promises a special experience to each and every diner/party- goer. It is about 5 minutes distance from Midvalley Megamall. Parking at this place never a problem, there is an ample parking slots in the building. I paid RM5 for parking on that night (entered at 7pm left at around 11pm).



AFTERWERK is fast becoming one of the most sought after LIVE music haunt in the prefecture. Featuring 2 bands daily (happy hour features the 1st band while extended hours will feature a 2nd full band) do expect the top bands in the circuit playing for you. 

Each day will also thematically bring you a different party atmosphere.






Not only you could listen to English song but also you could dedicate any song to someone. They could sing some Chinese songs as well.

Quill City Mall CSR Initiative with Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura

Quill City Mall Kuala Lumpur, a family and kids friendly shopping destination along Jalan Sultan Ismail Kuala Lumpur is honored to present the momentous Raya Kasih & Cinta themed Corporate Social Responsibility initiative with Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura recently in conjunction with Ramadhan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations. “Hero Seorang Cinderella” (HSC) drama series main casts, Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura attended the memorable event.

The Main Atrium has been turned into the Hero Seorang Cinderella theme for the Raya celebrations, providing shoppers an unforgettable experience from the drama series. The cast of this drama series are still shooting in the mall and shoppers might just be lucky to catch the casts at the mall. Come and experience the various Kasih & Cinta scenes unfolded in the drama series shot exclusively at Quill City Mall KL.




This Raya, it is all about Raya Kasih & Cinta as Quill City Mall KL welcomed a total of 43 children from Rumah Shifa Setapak and Rumah Bakti NurShaheera for a “Majlis Berbuka Puasa” in conjunction with the month of Ramadan. The children from these two homes were invited to spend their day at Quill City Mall KL for the upcoming Raya celebrations whereby they shopped for new stationaries and participated in various activities as well as games during the event. The orphanage children sealed their love with a customized love message written on Kasih & Cinta Quill Love Locks on the love fixture together with Dato Ar. Michael Ong, Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura during the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

“It’s our great pleasure to host this celebration of Raya Kasih & Cinta Corporate Social Responsibility initiative and spread the true meaning of Ramadan to the children from Rumah Shifa Setapak and Rumah Bakti NurShaheera. LOVE and GIVING is the true meaning of this celebration. This is especially for the children to have a memorable experience for Raya this year, to bring joy and love to the underprivileged in the spirit of Raya Kasih & Cinta.” said Dato’ Ar. Michael Ong, Group Executive Director of Quill Group of Companies.




Dato’ Ar. Michael Ong, Executive Director, Ng Chee Kheong, COO of Quill Group of Companies, Joseph Teo, Vice President, Marketing of Quill City Mall Kuala Lumpur, together with Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura launched this Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. Subsequently, “Hero Seorang Cinderella” Book Signing Ceremony was held whereby Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura signed HSC novels for their lucky fans.

As part of this noble and worthy cause in spreading the love this Raya, Quill City Mall KL gave away Limited Edition “Hero Seorang Cinderella” Pillow and Hari Raya green packets to the children. The children received the Hari Raya packets from the management of Quill City Mall, Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura.




The children were later treated to a scrumptious Buka Puasa meal at Aragan Yokocho, a new Japanese restaurant serving authentic Japanese food - the first and largest authentic Japanese restaurant in Asia. The restaurant provides a dining area which is sectioned off into four distinct seasonal themed seating areas featuring the four seasons in Japan: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Shoppers can come and experience a four season Buka Puasa dining here as well.

Floral Flavours of Perrier-Jouët Married with Signature's new menu

Award winning restaurant, Signature @ The Roof collaborated with renowned champagne brand, Perrier-Jouёt to launch their new menu. I was lucky to be invited as their guest on that night to review how the floral and fruity flavours of the cuvees bring out the best in the Signature’s latest menu. For the evening, the usually trendy and premium gastro-lounge, was transformed into a botanical wonderland reflecting the natural inspirations of the champagne maker.


At the event, Marketing Director of Pernod Ricard, Emmanuel Dokhelar explains, “The house of Perrier-Jouët is unique in that we only produce 3 million bottles of champagnes a year, and because of this we are very selective of whom we partner with. 

Signature has just the right atmosphere, style, and food which complements the feminine touch of Rose Adelaïde Jouët, founder and original winemaker of Perrier-Jouët. Even tonight’s menu has been specially engineered to convey the iconic fruity and floral flavours of the champagne straight to your palette.”



Each dish served has been carefully selected to bring out the flavoursome palette and aromatic notes of the Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut and the Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé. “Perrier-Jouët is all about creating vintages and cuvees which have distinctive characters of their own. For example, the Grand Brut is delicate, elegant and balanced, with great florality, while the Blason Rosé is an intense and balanced champagne that features a more fruity fragrance.” said Lionel Lau, Perrier-Jouët Sommelier at the event



The three course menu features starters like oyster shooters, garlic prawns, otak-otak dumplings, mushroom salad and Signature’s favourite mushroom soup. For the heavy weights, the main course includes flying tandoori chicken pasta, lamb rack, chicken rice ball and barramundi. Finally, for the sweet selection, these include chocolate brownies, red velvet, and lychee cheese tart. The incredible freshness of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut will pair perfectly with fish and seafood dishes while its marvelous florality will enhance the perfumes of the main courses. The sweet delicacies served for dessert will find an alter-ego in the intense fruitiness of Blason Rosé.



The introductory champagne - The Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut has a pale and sparkling yellow robe, which is suggestive of vivacity and carries notes of cherry plum, lemon and bergamot orange which emerge first on the palette, then make way for the flowerful flavours of fruit trees, such as lime and honeysuckle. These are followed by notes of butter, madeleine cakes and vanilla sugar. Lingering notes of grapefruit, white peaches, green pears, apple trees and green hazelnuts round off the taste.



Whereas the dessert champagne - The Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé, features a wonderfully juicy blend of blackcurrant buds, pear, apricots and cherry plum that emerge first, only to give way to the fragrances of blackcurrant and blood oranges, followed by notes of crème de cassis, raspberry, honeysuckle and roses, culminating in lime, blackberries, and Morello cherries.

Watsons Apology to Public for Recent Legenda Cun Raya Video

We deeply and sincerely apologize for our recent “Legenda Cun  Raya” video which was released on social media in Malaysia. The 15 minute video was inspired by the Malay legend Dayang Senandong made popular in the 1965 movie “Dayang Senandong’. It was our intention to convey concepts of inner and outer beauty, unfortunately the video instead offended many.

Regretfully, we acknowledge that the “Legenda Cun Raya” video is not in-line with the values that we hold dearly in Malaysia. Watsons Malaysia takes responsibility for the video and its content and is truly sorry that some elements have offended the general public.

I have came across their FB page with tonnes of negative comments and feedback. Never I thought the Raya ads will have such an impact among members of public. I watched once during their launching. As I have no much idea on the original story Dayang Senandong who was cursed to have black skin, which later Watsons adapted to use in their latest ads, the reaction of theis FB fans shocked me with the comments bashing the team and the ads with bad words. Personally, I watched twice only I get to know the message behind. (may be I'm bit slow to catch up the story) I think the mistake is not made on purpose to bash people with dark skin colour or having any racism issue on it. Just hope everyone will give them a chance to improve on it.
