Bargain Basement @ IOI City Mall

In the event of true Christmas spirit, IOI City Mall and Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng (Yayasan TSLSC) collaborated and organized “Holly Jolly Christmas Fun” as part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives. On 6 December 2016, a total of 14 children from Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cornerstone and 23 children from Pusat Jagaan KanakKanak Istimewa Lagenda enjoyed a fun-filled morning with thrilling activities at District 21, a 70,000 sq. ft. indoor action adventure park located within IOI City Mall. The children had a great time taking on some of the exciting rides offered at the theme park such as the largest indoor rope challenge course, Sky Trail and Malaysia’s first indoor Roller Glider, as well as, other activities prepared specially for them such as sand-art and DIY Christmas card-making. They were later treated to a delicious meal specially prepared by Texas Chicken.

During the media launch, Bargain Basement contributed its nett proceeds worth RM50, 000 to five beneficiaries in a cheque presentation by the Executive Director of Yayasan TSLSC, Datin Joanne Wong. Five homes namely Rumah Shalom (Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kristian Aman Selangor), Yayasan Seribu Harapan Malaysia, Pertubuhan Anak Yatim Darul Aminan, Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cornerstone and Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Lagenda will be receiving RM10,000 each. This initiative is in support with Bargain Basement’s motto which is “give to inspire others to give”. “Besides helping to remove clutter at home, this initiative also benefits the environment as the goods are used by someone else instead of being dumped in a landfill,” said Datin Joanne. Additionally, the children also received a school bag and goodie bags distributed by Datin Joanne and General Manager of IOI City Mall, Mr Chris Chong. Items in the goodie bags such as light snacks, drinking bottle and much more were sponsored by Yayasan TSLSC and The Manhattan Fish Market.
