Asia’s largest obstacle course running event, Viper Challenge took place in Genting Highlands over the weekend on the 7th and 8th of March 2020. This immensely popular fitness programme had accumulated over 300,000 enthusiasts participating in their events locally and internationally - out of which, almost 20,000 individuals have confirmed their attendance for this most exciting weekend. NCT Group's hotels – Grand Ion Delemen, Gloria Residences and G-Luxe by Gloria was proud to be venue sponsor for this year.

The Viper Challenge has been held in Genting Highlands before in 2016 and 2017. This year, the event returned to the chilly mountains as thousands of individual gathered at Ion Park, Genting Highlands to participate in a world-class obstacle course. The cool climate offers a unique experience for all participants at 6000 feet above sea level, one of the highest points at Genting Highlands, the venue this year is a vast difference from the searing heat of the previous stops.

Dato' Indera Naresh Mohan, CEO of Grand Ion Delemen  Hotel, was there to officiate the flag off. King of Mountain is an apt title for this year's event as Ion Delemen itself broke Malaysia Book of Records as the Highest Altitude Full-Fledged Service Apartment in the country.

Participants were challenged with a course route of 7 km and 12 obstacles in misty and cold temperature coupled with the wind at high altitude.

The Festival area located directly in front of the hotels Gloria Residences and G-Luxe by Gloria include the registration tent, start and finish lines, medical tent, Counterpain storage tent, Lush Protein bars tent, Erprotape tent, hotel tents, food stalls and a picnic area.

    1. You are right. We should sit at home. This event happened before the "stay at home" order was summoned and also when the covid-19 cases still went low which mostly were imported cases. Let's pray now for the pandemic to be over soon so that we can go out again.
