PICC Celebrates Ramadan with Orphans

Every year during Ramadan month, that's the time for Corporate Social Responsibility program, if you notice. This year Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) continues to uphold its spirit of caring and generosity towards the plight of the underprivileged through the PICC's iftar event with orphans.

Orphans and underprivileged children from Rumah Amal Suci in Bandar Utama, Rumah Kasih Sayang in Subang Murni and Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Cheras in Cheras between 4-12 years old were invited to join the iftar at Pot & Pan Restaurant, PICC.

According to the CEO of PICC, Dato Badlishah," the iftar provides a platform and opportunity for the company to expand its community outreach and build meaningful relationships with the communities within and surrounding the areas of its operations while providing some social assistance to lessen the burden of preparing for the upcoming Raya festival.

In the event, the children were served roasted lamb, kuey teow tomyam, thai laksa, pulut mangga, som tam, laksa kedah ikan sekoq, ayam percik golek, variety of sup power, kuih keria PICC, nasi arab khasa and mendy. Besides, there were also live cooking demonstrations by the experienced chefs.

PICC also distributed the duit raya to the orphans from the aforementioned welfare homes and school. To add to the merriment of the night, the children also put on a show of their own with a meaningful "Nasyid" performance.
